Police investigating after body of man found on Hamilton escarpment

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man following the discovery of his body on the Hamilton escarpment.

On Aug. 27, at approximately 6:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of Belvidere Avenue after a resident located a dead man in a large vacant grassy lot surrounded by brush, adjacent to the escarpment.

The man is believed to be between 60 and 70 years old.

Investigators say at the time he was located he was wearing a light blue collared, button-down shirt with a subtle plaid pattern, blue jeans, a black belt with a silver buckle and size 13 black running shoes with grey and red markings.

Authorities describe him as having medium-length grey hair, stubble facial hair and missing teeth.
