Niagara police are investigating after two instances of armed robberies Sunday, one in St. Catharines and one in Thorold hours later.
Officers say at 9:40 p.m. they responded to reports of a robbery at a convenience store on Niagara Street in St. Catharines.
They say two male suspects had attended the store, with one of them allegedly brandishing a black handgun.
Investigators say the suspects demanded cash and left the store with a small quantity of Canadian currency.
Detectives describe one suspect as a male who wore a red Chicago Bulls hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, red sneakers, white socks and a black face covering.
They describe the second suspect as a male with a slim build, who wore a black bomber jacket, black pants, black sandals, white socks and a black face covering.
Nearly two hours later, officers responded to a second armed robbery at a convenience store in the area of Collier Road South in the Town of Thorold.

Investigators say the suspects left the area with a small quantity of Canadian currency.
Detectives describe one suspect as a Black male, who wore a black hooded jacket, black pants, white socks and black sandals, and a black face covering.
They describe the second suspect as a Black male who wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white Nike Air Force One shoes with black laces and a logo, a black face covering and translucent surgical gloves.
