Pedestrian dead after being struck by train near Aldershot GO station

Halton police say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a freight train near the Aldershot GO station in Burlington on Tuesday.

Investigators say the person, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday afternoon.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

GO Transit’s Lakeshore West line was closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation, but service has returned to normal.
