Overnight shooting in central Hamilton sends man to hospital

Hamilton police are investigating after an overnight shooting in the neighbourhood of Stinson sent a man to hospital.

Police say it happened near a business in the area of Main Street East and East Avenue South around 12:30 a.m. Friday and that multiple calls came in to report the shooting.

A number of shots were fired during the incident and a 50-year-old man from Hamilton was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation into how many suspects were involved remains ongoing and report that the victim is not being cooperative at this time.
