OPP investigate after pedestrian hit on Hwy 403 in Hamilton dies

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle Saturday afternoon on Highway 403 in Hamilton.

Officers say just before 4 p.m., a vehicle going westbound on the highway struck a 34-year-old man from Hamilton in the area past Aberdeen Ave.

First responders say they were unsuccessful in reviving the man, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say the two people who were in the vehicle remained at the scene and were not injured.

Detectives reopened the westbound lanes at Aberdeen Avenue, after closing the road for several hours as part of their investigation and cleanup.

Officers say there are no charges expected to be issued at this point, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Police have not provided any information regarding the vehicle, or details on the people involved.
