One person in hospital after collision with Barton Street hydro pole

Hamilton police say one person is in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries following a crash Tuesday morning.

At around 6 a.m., a vehicle hit a hydro pole on Barton Street West between Tiffany Street and Caroline Street North.

Due to damage to the hydro pole, Alectra Utilities is on scene and repairs are expected to continue throughout the day.

Officers are encouraging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
