No major incidents at McMaster University homecoming say Hamilton police

Homecoming weekend at McMaster University saw 10,000 students on the streets near campus, and Hamilton police say parties went off with no major incidents.

An injunction order expired just before midnight Monday that prohibited anyone from violating the City’s nuisance party bylaw, or attending such a gathering in the neighbourhoods surrounding McMaster.

The injunction came after street parties got out of hand in previous years.

Hamilton’s bylaw office says they issued two noise bylaw charges related to homecoming.

The City says the event “turned out positively” and that “participants were respectful of the city’s bylaws.”
