Niagara police seize 5 firearms after man makes threats in east Grimsby

Niagara police have arrested a man from Grimsby Tuesday, after a verbal altercation led him to bring a firearm to a neighbourhood in east Grimsby.

Officers say two men had the altercation in the area of Terrace Drive and Koornneef Court, before one man had left the area.

They say after a few minutes, the man allegedly returned with a firearm before returning to his home nearby.

Investigators arrested 30-year-old Lucas Tollis and have charged him with one offence of uttering threats and one for possession of a weapon.

After Tollis was arrested, officers obtained a warrant and searched his home, which resulted in the seizure of five firearms.

Tollis was held for a bail hearing that took place Wednesday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
