Niagara police drug investigation leads to arrest of two people

Niagara police have arrested two people from Niagara Falls as part of a drug trafficking investigation that began early 2025.

Officers say they identified and arrested a man April 29, they believed to be involved in drug trafficking.

Police then executed a search warrant at a home on Biggar Road in Niagara Falls the next day and seized over 450 grams of suspected cocaine, $7,050 in Canadian currency and a .22-calibre rifle.

Detectives arrested a woman Wednesday in relation to the investigation.

38-year-old Matthew Donald Martindale of Niagara Falls has been charged with offences including possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing property obtained by crime and for unauthorized possession of a firearm.

61-year-old Annette M. Martindale have been charged with offences related to possessing a firearm without a license, and for careless storage of a firearm.

Matthew Martindale was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at a St. Catharines courthouse June 12.

Annette Martindale was held in custody for a video bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse and was remanded into custody.
