Niagara police charge 33-year-old woman in connection to January crash that killed teen

Niagara police have charged a 33-year-old woman from Niagara Falls in connection to a collision that killed a 16-year-old girl in January.

Police have not released the name of the woman who was charged.

On Monday, Jan. 27 around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a serious crash near Beachwood Road and Thorold Stone Road in Niagara Falls.

Investigators discovered that 16-year-old lost control of her car and collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Cruz. She later died in hospital.

The 32-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was also transported to hospital with minor injuries. She has since been charged with careless driving causing death.
