Motorcyclist in Brant County collision on stolen bike, had been disqualified from driving

Brant County OPP are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision between a motorcycle and vehicle in which the driver of the bike was on a stolen motorcycle and had been banned from driving multiple times.

The collision occurred Monday night around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 24 and Colborne Street West.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old man, was thrown airborne approximately 20 feet before coming to rest on the roadway. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say he been disqualified from driving on three prior occasions. He was subsequently charged with four counts of operating a vehicle while prohibited and possession of property obtained by crime.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision

Highway 24 southbound lanes remained open while the northbound lanes north of Highway 24 were closed during the investigation and road clean-up. The investigation is ongoing.
