Advance voting for the Town of Milton’s Ward 1 councillor byelection will take place over two days next week.

Voting is set for Sept. 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at two locations: Sherwood Community Centre on Main St West and Nassagaweya Tennis Centre and Community Hall on Guelph Line.

The byelection will be held on Oct. 6.

To be eligible to vote Milton residents must reside in Ward 1, be Canadian citizens and at least 18 years of age. People who own property in Ward 1 but do not reside there may also cast their vote.

Ward 1 voters are asked to bring their voter notification card and identification that shows their name and address. Eligible voters who have not received a voter notification card can still vote by providing identification that includes their name and Ward 1 address.

Kristina Tesser Derksen, who held the previous Ward 1 councillor position, was elected as the Member of Parliament for Milton East–Halton Hills South in the 2025 federal election.
