Hamilton police say a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a shooting Thursday night.

Gunfire struck a townhouse complex by Garth Street and the Linc last night as families played outside. Residents say the man did not live in the complex.

Officers told CHCH News they responded to the scene on Purnell Dr. around 9:30 p.m. Emergency crews treated the victim before bringing him to the hospital.

Investigators say they believe this was a targeted incident. No shooters have been identified.
