Man charged in St. Catharines park with illegal drugs for trafficking

Niagara police have charged a 33-year-old man for possessing illegal drugs with the purpose of trafficking in a St. Catharines park.
On Sept. 29 officers were called to Richard Pierpoint Park on Oakdale Avenue following reports of someone with fentanyl.
Police arrived to the park and seized 105.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 247 suspected Dilaudid pills (hydromorphone) and $2,646 in Canadian currency from the man.
Trevor Bentz — of no fixed address — was arrested and charged with possession of both drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Sept. 30 in St. Catharines.
