Man arrested after allegedly trying to hide drugs from Hamilton police

Hamilton police say they’ve arrested a 39-year-old man after patrol officers allegedly caught him red-handed with a large quantity of drugs.

While patrolling the downtown core on Tuesday, police say they encountered a man in an alleyway near Main Street East and Ferguson Avenue and watched him try to hide illicit drugs. The officers saw kitchen measuring spoons laying next to him that they suspected were being used to measure out drugs.

Police placed him under arrest, and a search revealed the following items:

  • 18.17 grams crystal methamphetamine
  • 20.97 grams cocaine
  • 107 dilaudid pills
  • 3.06 grams pink fentanyl
  • 5 grams crack cocaine
  • Two working scales
  • Makeshift dime bags

The man is facing multiple charges related to possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with probation and possession of proceeds of crime.
