Lefevour leads Cats to win

The Tiger-Cats have placed quarterback Zach Collaros on the 6 game injured list. That’s the bad news. But the good news is that the Ticats offense appears to be in good hands with Dan Lefevour behind centre. On Saturday night, Lefevour, in his first regular season start in the CFL, was impressive in leading the Ticats to their first win of the season.

At this time last week, Dan Lefevour was a little nervous — at least, that’s what one of his teammates told us. But by the time the 27-year old Central Michigan alum led his team onto the field on Saturday night, it sure looked like the jitters that come with starting your first CFL game were long gone.

Dan Lefevour: “I felt confident throwing to all of them. I think everyone is getting a little bit of chemistry.”

He connected with seven different receivers against Ottawa — five times with sophomore Luke Tasker who says Lefevour made the entire offense feel at ease:   “I think he enjoys being the leader in the huddle, you can tell just by the way he gets everybody together. The quarterback is confidence. That’s what it takes to be a good quarterback, and I think Dan has that naturally. Confidence spreads, everyone feels more confident.”

With Zach Collaros now on the six-game injured list, Lefevour’s success has come at a perfect time. From seeing zero action in 2012, to backing-up future Hall of Famer Henry Burris, and now beating Burris head-to-head — Lefevour is making the most of this opportunity. But, he’s taking it in stride: “I’ve only had one game. Really playing for a long time. Good, but wasn’t as good as it can be.”
