An elderly woman is in hospital after being assaulted by a stranger in a parking lot in Kitchener.
It happened in the area of Highland Rd. West and Westmount Rd. West around 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
Waterloo police say the woman was walking in a parking lot when she was assaulted by a man she didn’t know.
They say the suspect did not take any of the victim’s belongings and fled the area on foot.
The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 27-year-old Kitchener man was arrested a short distance away from the parking lot.
He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with a release order.
