Infrastructure Minister Catherine McKenna will not seek re-election

Liberal cabinet minister Catherine McKenna has announced she is not running for re-election.
McKenna, who is from Hamilton, represents the riding of Ottawa Centre and is the minister of Infrastructure and Communities.
She says she informed the prime minister and the president of the Liberal party of her intention not to run again over the weekend.
After a lot of reflection, I decided I wanted to spend more time on the two things that matter most to me: my kids & the climate.

She says living through COVID-19 through a very long year made her step back and reflect on what matters to her most.
She wants to spend more time with her three children and fight for climate change.
