Day five of Ticats training camp at Ron Joyce Stadium and Sunday the veterans brought the heat and elevated the level of play on the field.

When CHCH news was there for the start of camp on Wednesday, it was just the rookies.

Ticats head coach was not impressed with their level of energy and pizazz but he told us Sunday that’s all changed now that the reps are in and vets arrived.

Hamilton Ticats Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Scott Milanovich is happy with how Sunday went and says Ticats offence gelled from the start.

“I haven’t got to see the film how things went from defence, I can tell you the offence, it was like we didn’t miss a beat down there” said Milanovich.

Ticats QB Bo Levi Mitchell is glad to be back. He says a vets’ job is to hold off the rookies from taking their job but understands their value.

“That is one thing Scott made known. 8 rookies starting last year, our rookies helped us tremendously” Mitchell said.

The Hamilton Ticats announced Sunday the release of 12 players from their roster including QB Taulia Tagovailoa.

Camp goes to May 31st with the first pre-season game on the 24th against the Argos.
