Hamilton police have arrested a man who they say is known to them in connection with an unprovoked attack that left a senior hospitalized.
Police officers were called around 4 p.m. on Jan. 20, to a building in the area of King St. West after security guards found an unconscious man suffering from head injuries.
Paramedics transported the 67-year-old victim to hospital, where he was intubated and remains in critical condition.
investigators say the victim was unexpectedly struck with a closed fist by a 48-year-old man who is known to police.
The assault caused the senior fall to the ground where he was found unconscious.
The accused was found in the immediate area and taken into custody.
He has been charged with the following offences and was held for a bail hearing:
