Hamilton police investigating after cyclist struck on Garth Street

An 18-year-old cyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a car Tuesday night on the Hamilton Mountain.
Hamilton police say the crash happened on the Garth Street overpass crossing the Lincoln Alexander Parkway around 8 p.m.
Police say the cyclist was not wearing a helmet, and sustained critical head injuries after being thrown from the bike.
The driver of the car remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.
Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured it on a dash cam to get in touch.
