Hamilton police investigate overnight shooting near Ashley Street

Hamilton police say they’re investigating a shooting that took place early Wednesday morning in the area of Ashley Street and King Street downtown.

Officers arrived on scene at 12:14 a.m. They say no victims were located in their initial search, but they did find two shell casings and a small amount of blood on the sidewalk in front of 627 King Street.

Information from witnesses suggests there may have been a physical altercation in the area, but the details remain unclear.

So far, no victim has come forward.
