Hamilton police charge man with arson after two fires at abandoned nightclub

Hamilton police have arrested a 24-year-old man for arson after two fires in the former Hush Nightclub on Hess Street South.
Hamilton Fire Department says that they responded to a fire Tuesday morning at around 8:30 a.m. at 33 Hess St. South.
On Sunday, at around 8:30 p.m. Hamilton fire says they responded to a fire at the same location and that they were able to put out the fire “before it could spread throughout the property and cause significant damage.”
Hamilton police have confirmed they arrested a 24-year-old man who was inside the building at the time for trespassing.
Investigators say they determined the man was responsible for the initial fire as well as Tuesday’s fire.
Officers have charged the man with two counts of arson and failure to comply with probation.
