Hamilton man in hospital after assault

A man is in a Hamilton hospital with life threatening injuries after what police are still calling an assault early Sunday morning on Barton Street East.

Two front porches on Prospect Street were covered in blood and a blood trail two and half blocks long led back down Barton to a banquet hall just east of Barnesdale Avenue.

Hamilton police have not confirmed that the man was stabbed.

Updated February 12, 2015: Members of the banquet hall contacted CHCH News to say the assault had no connection to their facility, nor to the cancellation of their Sunday brunch. A 31 year old Burlington man is under arrest.
