Hamilton man arrested Saturday after alleged illegal drug use

Hamilton police say they arrested a 41-year-old Hamilton man on Saturday after he was observed using illegal drugs.

On March 21, at around 8:30 p.m., officers say they “observed a group of individuals behaving suspiciously” in the area of King Street West and West Avenue.

Authorities say they witnessed one of the people consume illegal drugs using a glass pipe and arrested the Hamilton man as a result.

The accused man was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and failure to comply with a probation order.

A search by investigators uncovered:

  • 227 Dilaudid pills;
  • 8.16 grams of fentanyl;
  • 2.5 grams of methamphetamine;
  • A digital scale with drug residue; and
  • Two cellular phones.
