Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) has found its new leader.

The hospital network announced that Tracey MacArthur, the former head of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), would assume the top spot later this year.

Starting April 15, MacArthur will assume the role of president and CEO.

“Ms. MacArthur is a distinguished hospital executive with a strong track record of driving quality and research agendas at leading academic health sciences centres,” Keith Monrose, chair, HHS board of directors, said.

Previously, MacArthur worked for CAMH for over 11 years, where she held several important roles, including CEO, CFO, and senior vice president of clinical operations.

“I am truly honoured to join Hamilton Health Sciences in this capacity and to further advance the organization’s role in supporting a healthy community in the greater Hamilton region and beyond,” MacArthur said.

The previous HHS head, Rob MacIsaac, announced his resignation in June of last year. He became the president of HHS on Feb. 1, 2014.
