Hagersville teen charged with gun possession, assault

Haldimand OPP say they’ve arrested and charged a 17-year-old with multiple offences after investigating a weapons complaint in Hagersville.

Officers say they responded to the complaint on Sept. 25 around 4:20 p.m. in the area of Railway Street. They were able to determine that two teenagers had been in a fight earlier that day.

As a result of their investigation, a 17-year-old has been charged with the following:

  • Pointing a firearm;
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm;
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes;
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • Carrying a concealed weapon;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Assault;
  • Failure to comply with release order.

Police say the teen remains in custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance in Cayuga on a later date.
