Guelph man arrested in Niagara region after Toronto stabbing

A Guelph man has been arrested in the Niagara region in connection with a stabbing in Toronto last weekend.
Toronto police say they responded to reports of a stabbing around 5 a.m. Sunday in the area of Wales and Bellevue avenues, just a few blocks away from Kensington Market.
Officers found a man with multiple life-threatening stab wounds. He was taken to hospital.
Investigators say a woman was also assaulted.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as 38-year-old Murtaza Khaja Sadiavia. He was arrested in the Niagara region with the help of the Canada Border Services Agency.
Toronto police have charged Sadiavia with attempted murder, assault and criminal harassment.
He was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
