Ford Motor Company is recalling 22,663 F-150 pickup trucks across Canada.

The recall notice says “the rear axle hub bolt(s) could break and cause the axle shaft(s) splines to wear.”

Transport Canada says the issues could cause a loss of power to the wheels of the truck. And if the parking brake isn’t applied, the truck could roll away.

The notice adds that the recall only affects trucks equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty Optional package.

The affected model years of the Ford F-150 are 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Ford is expected to notify owners by mail.

The automotive company advises owners of affected trucks to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear axle shafts.
