Five youths arrested after Hamilton mountain schools hold-and-secure

Hamilton police say five young people were arrested after three schools on Hamilton mountain were all placed in a hold-and-secure late Thursday.

Westview Middle School, Westwood Elementary School and Westmount Secondary School, close to Limeridge Road and West Fifth Street, sheltered in place from around 11:50 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.

Police attended the area, reportedly for a weapons call.

Police confirmed 5 young people were detained and that 2 of them have been released unconditionally.
