Employee at the Barton street jail tests positive for COVID-19

Canada’s COVID-19 cases continue to rise almost by the hour, with the current number of confirmed across the country at more than 4,600.

Officials are urging everyone to keep taking precautions to try and help slow the spread.

Community spread is here, that’s the message from Hamilton Public Health today after two employees who work in separate facilities with vulnerable populations tested positive for COVID-19.

We are learning more about St. Joe’s dialysis nurse who contracted the virus, and today the Solicitor General’s Office says an employee at the Barton Street jail was also confirmed positive.
