Canadian dollar takes dive
The Canadian dollar tumbles to its lowest level in more than 18 months as the U-S dollar continues to appreciate.
The loonie was down for a sixth session, falling eight-10ths of-a-penny to 95.42 cents U-S; its lowest level since late November 2011.
It comes on the heels of disappointing Canadian retail sales numbers and tame inflation.
But the real culprit was a stronger American dollar, which has risen since Fed Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke indicated the U-S central bank is likely to start winding up monetary stimulus later this year.
