Plans are in the works for Burlington’s annual Sound of Music Festival but this time, it’ll be under a new name.

The Lakeshore Music & Arts Festival, operated by MRG Live Ltd., will remain at Spencer Smith Park but has been reduced to a two-day festival on June 20 and 21.

The new operator was selected for the festival in Dec. 2025 and will cover festival production costs and financial risks.

While there’s no budget included yet, the one page concept prepared by the organizers says the event will showcase a diverse lineup of Canadian musicians, food trucks, vendors and a ticketed VIP section.

The previous Sound of Music Festival’s residency ended after the city decided against providing the $740,000 requested by the organizers to run the 2026 edition of the event.

The report will be presented to Burlington’s Committee of the Whole on Monday.
