Brant County man charged after OPP seize $300K in stolen items

The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 35-year-old man from Brant County after stolen property worth over $300,000 was found.

Police say a total of 11 vehicles, four trailers, four firearms and ammunition were seized.

Brandon Joe Ferreira, a 35-year-old from Brant County is facing five charges, which includes nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada and careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

On Nov. 21, OPP were requested to help County of Brant by-law officers with a property check at a location on Colborne St. East in the county.

Upon arrival, police observed several vehicles that were discovered to be stolen.

Police executed a search warrant at the same location the next morning, where they calculated an estimated value of over $300,000 of stolen items.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Brantford courthouse at a later date.
