Be Kind Entertainment highlights charitable works of celebrities with hopes to inspire others

Be Kind Entertainment highlights charitable works of celebrities hoping to inspire others to get involved. To tell us more, we were joined by the host Annie Borkowski and author Margot Denomme.
Borkowski says she started Kind Entertainment to shine a light on the charitable works of kind Canadian celebrities, in hopes others watching would get inspired.
“Happy to report, it’s working,” said Borkowski. “Especially in these tough times, people want to see happiness, positive stories and of course, kindness.”
She says she has a proposition for viewers: a lovely, easy and fun seven day challenge.
She says this can involve:
- Send an uplifting text to a friend
- Call your mom, dad or family member
- Help out in the kitchen
- Smile at someone
- Shovel a neighbour’s walkway
- Let someone merge into traffic ahead of you with a smile and a wave
- Compliment an employee (to a manager) when you have good service
Brokowski says at the end of the seven days, send a her a picture or video of how you are being kind to @bekindentertainment. She will give away t-shirt and a book written by Denomme.
Denomme says she started writing books about being kind when she noticed the content her kids were looking at featured photo shopped models. She was afraid this content would have a negative impact on them.
“I’m a criminal lawyer, so I have seen a lot of the effects of low self esteem in the courts and I have seen a lot of people not being very kind to each other,” said Denomme. “So that’s really what prompted me to write Mommy, am I pretty? and Awesome Inside + Out.”
She says the books provide back-to-basics values about being kind, being thoughtful, respectful, inclusive and more.
