The newly reimagined Signature Class cabins will feature companion seating, a larger bed and Air Canada’s first lie-flat seats.
The upgrades depend on whether you’re flying on an Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner.
The new long-haul cabin designs were unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany.
“Details matter: we listened closely to feedback and challenged ourselves to create an experience defined by a strong Canadian sense of place, alongside a commitment to craftsmanship, functionality, and long-term durability,” said Air Canada’s executive vice president Mark Nasr in a statement. “This investment in the care and comfort of our customers is a key element of our New Frontiers growth strategy to become one of the world’s leading airlines.”
The changes are set to begin this summer.
Later this year, Air Canada says it’s going to unveil a “distinctly Canadian” hospitality experience, with upgraded service, food and drinks, and free Wi-Fi sponsored by Bell.
The changes also include new seating throughout the planes, larger overhead bins and larger screens.
Earlier this month, the airline launched a pilot project to help resolve compensations claims faster, which often revolved around demands for refunds or compensation after a flight delay or cancellation.
