Canadian Steve Nash named new coach of Brooklyn Nets

Victoria B.C. native Steve Nash has been named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.

Nash has signed a four-year deal with the team.

Nash has issued a statement saying that coaching is something he always wanted to pursue and he is humbled to work with the players and staff in Brooklyn.

During his 18-year career as a player Nash was an eight time all-star and was named the NBA’s most valuable player twice.

For the past five years he’s been a player development consultant with the Golden State Warriors.
