NATO’s secretary general is in Washington to meet with President Donald Trump, amid a relationship strained by recent events in Iran, which have the American leader casting doubt on the 77-year-old partnership.

The president has been highly critical of what he sees as a one-sided security alliance, after several member states refused to participate in his push to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
