World day for cultural diversity

First Published:

Cultures from across the city gathered at Hamilton city hall today to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity.

The event included african drumming, an aboriginal song and dance and an interactive zumba routine. Evelyn Myrie, the director for Hamilton’s Centre for Civic Inclusion says the event is all about celebrating our differences in a fun and interactive way.

“The more we know each other the less likely we are going to be at war with each other. That is the take on it. And we’re here in Hamilton joining this global movement to celebrate diversity and inclusion. ”

The theme of this year’s event is “do one thing for diversity.”
