Woman suffers life threatening injuries after being hit by truck: Niagara police

A woman was rushed to hospital early Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Fort Erie.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Niagara River Pky. and Netherby Rd. around 7:30 a.m.

Police say a 50-year-old woman was on the east shoulder of the parkway when she was struck by a northbound-traveling black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck being driven by a 67-year-old man.

The woman was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken over the investigation.
