Woman struck and killed on Highway 407 in Burlington

First Published:

OPP say a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 407 Sunday night.

Police say a vehicle travelling westbound on the highway near Appleby Line left the roadway and ended up in the right side ditch.

This was around 8 p.m.

According to police, a woman got out of that car and walked onto the roadway where she was hit by another car.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured and drugs and alcohol were not factors, police say.

The road was closed until around 1 a.m. Monday morning for the investigation.

Police say the woman’s next of kin are being notified.
