Woman rescued after being ‘forcibly confined’ in Oshawa apartment

Three men are facing a slew of charges after a woman was rescued from an Oshawa apartment where she was being held against her will.

Police say the woman was forced to stay in a room at an apartment building on Simcoe St. North between Aug. 2 and Aug. 5.

They say the woman reached out to a friend for help after she managed to get to a cell phone.

Police were able to identify the location of the building and rescued the woman. She was taken to a local hospital to be examined.

Officers searched the unit and seized roughly $32,500 in cash and drugs.

Three men who were found inside the apartment were arrested.

Mihael Costache, 51, Shane O’Donnell, 33, and Mathew Seguin, 28, are facing several drug-related charges as well as forcible confinement. Costache also faces a charge of sexual assault.
