Woman abducted by man hiding in back seat of her vehicle: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a woman was abducted and then assaulted by a man who was hiding in the back seat of her vehicle.

Police say the victim was driving in the Port Dover area around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday when she was surprised by a man in her vehicle.

The man allegedly told the woman to drive to an area in Norfolk County where she was subsequently physically assaulted. The woman managed to escape and contact police.

Investigators say the woman suffered minor injuries.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.

Police are reminding all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times and to always check the front and rear seats of their vehicle before entering.
