Witness sought after woman sexually assaulted in Burlington

First Published:

Halton Regional Police Service is trying to identify a potential witness after a woman was sexually assaulted on Canada Day in Burlington.

Police say the victim left The Coop restaurant on Brant St. on July 1 and got into a vehicle with an unknown male.

The woman was sexually assaulted in the vehicle before she was dropped off at her home.

Investigators say before the victim was taken home, she was in the parking lot of a Shell gas station on Walkers Line and Mainway between 11:50 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

Police are now trying to identify a woman who was at the gas station around the same time. They are also trying to identify a blue, four-door vehicle.

“Investigators have determined that this female witness interacted with the victim and may be able to assist police in the investigation,” said Halton police in a news release.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Chris Newcombe at 905-465-8965 or Det. Cst. Andrea Moss at 905-465-8971.
