What Walt Disney World has planned for its 50th anniversary celebrations

First Published:

Walt Disney World is celebrating its 50th anniversary and visitors will have plenty of time to enjoy the magical events planned to commemorate the achievement.

Walt Disney World Resort has dubbed the 18-month celebration, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”.

Lifestyle blogger Lena Almeida joined us with more on what you can enjoy at the happiest place on earth.

Almeida says the extended celebration will give those who can’t travel to Disney World right now, the chance to witness the 50th-anniversary celebrations when they can get the time.

Each park in Disney World is going to have numerous new and exciting events all related to the celebration.

Magic Kingdom

The famous Disney fireworks are back featuring music, enhanced lighting and for the first time, the projections effects extend from Cinderella’s Castle straight down through Main Street, U.S.A.

“No matter where you’re watching the show from, you are going to feel very immersed in it,” said Almeida. “Really exciting is that the original song ‘You Are the Magic’ was actually written and performed by Grammy winner Philip Lawrence, who started his music career as a Disney cast member.”

Epcot

The France pavilion at Epcot has been expanded. It will include “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” which is a family friendly attraction inspired by the movie Ratatouille.

“In this ride guests are going to shrink down to the size of Chef Remy and scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant,” said Almeida. “I can’t wait to experience this ride.”

Animal Kingdom

Guests can watch as Disney characters take to the sky for an all-new performance called ‘Disney KiteTails’.

There are two shows, one inspired by The Lion King and the other inspired by The Jungle Book.

Hollywood Studios

Star Wars takes center stage at this park.

It features the ‘Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser’ hotel. Food, activities, special events and a voyage to ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ in Hollywood Studios.

Bookings are available to the public Oct. 28.
