West Niagara Special Olympics

First Published:

West Niagara Special Olympics didn’t let COVID-19 restrictions get in the way of celebrating their athletes during their annual banquet.

The athletes and their families lined up in their cars this afternoon at the St. Helens Catholic Church in Beamsville. They were treated to freshly prepared dinners that they could bring home and heat up this evening.

The athletes then joined each other on a large ‘Zoom’ gathering to celebrate the feast together.

Organizers say they are looking forward to being back together once the COVID-19 restrictions are dropped.
