West Lincoln Roundabout Intentionally Damaged

First Published:

A roundabout on South Grimsby Road 6 in West Lincoln was intentionally damaged this morning.

Niagara Regional Police say that an officer was doing a general patrol on Highway 20 around 7:30 a.m. when they came across several fresh ruts in the middle grass area. Several trees were toppled, and there is damage to an automatic irrigation system.

Following investigation, police believe that a 4×4 pickup truck drove through the centre of the roundabout multiple times. They believe it happened around 1:00 a.m. and left the area southbound on South Grimsby Road 6.

After searching for witnesses in the area, police say that a local reported a similar intentional drive through of the roundabout may have also took place around 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Damage to the roundabout is estimated to be over $7500.

Anyone who may have information about this crime is asked to contact the investigating officer by calling 905-688-4111, extension 1009488.
