Welland man charged with second-degree murder in 2019 homicide

A Welland resident has been charged in connection with the 2019 death of a man late last year.

Officers were called to the area of Lincoln St. and Coventry Rd. on Nov. 17, 2019 for reports of a disturbance.

A 50-year-old man from Welland was taken to hospital where he died the following day.

The victim’s name is not being released at the request of his family.

On Tuesday, Niagara police arrested and charged Walter D. Iudiciani, 55, with second-degree murder.

He is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court via video on Wednesday.
