A 48-year-old man has been charged in the historical sexual assaults of a young teenage that police say took place more than twenty years ago.

Kevin Schneider, of Welland, has been charged with two count each of sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and invitation to sexual touching.

The alleged incidents happened in Welland between 1995 and 1999.

Police say the female victim was between the ages of 11 and 13 at the time.

Schneider is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday in St. Catharines.

Investigators believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-688-4111, ext. 5100.
