Ontarians can now download the new QR version of the official Ministry of Health vaccine certificate.

Premier Doug Ford revealed details about the province’s enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code and app during a news conference Friday morning.

The government said the technology is available to download for some residents starting today.

Anyone whose birthday falls between January and April can download the scannable certificate today. Those whose birthdays are between May and August will be able to download QR codes on Saturday and those born in September through December can download on Sunday.

A photo health card is required to download the code.

The new QR certificate can be obtained from the Verify Ontario App, which is available from Apple App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android.

Fully-vaccinated Ontario residents can use the code to gain entry to several venues and services, such as pubs, restaurants, sporting events, casinos and other indoor entertainment events.
